Day 1 - 11th March
On this day, even though the pupils have already been in contact and took part in online meetings, we incorporated ice-breaking activate, so that the next couple of days spend together would more comfortable for them. We decided to combine cultural diversity and these types of activities so students with the assistance of their teachers were required to prepare a presentation concerning so called funny facts as well as their mother language tongue twisters. Additionally, students sang a song called “Panie Janie” in their native language stanza by stanza which made them bond more and realize that there are always some similarities between each culture. Our students prepared students a presentation concerning the local heritage of our city, namely Kalisz, its history and tradition. At the same time, the presentation will include information on how the city benefits because of the European Union partnership. Moreover, we involved our local community supporter, namely our Town Council and we had the opportunity to visit the town hall with its new interactive exhibition (incorporating ICT skills development with the respect of culture and tradition) and meeting the president of our city. We had the chance to listen how our council is involved in sustainable project in the area.
Day 2 - 12th March
This day was devoted to visit the capital city of Poland – Warsaw. During this trip students learned about the cultural heritage, the history of Warsaw and the WWII, which by current circumstances (war in Ukraine) made them more aware of the importance of peace and empathy. They also had an occasion to visit the Copernicus Science Centre – were they took part in a workshop concerning climate change and could experience science laws through numerous experiments, which surely improved their STEM skills and knowledge.
Day 3 - 13th March
On the third day, thanks to support from our local company – Brewa, we had the opportunity to visit this local photovoltaic company where we learned about its beginning, the way they are organized and ideas behind it. We found out some information about the technology and crucial facts and importance of going “green” when it comes to power. Afterwards, we came back to school where students took part in couple of workshops concerning Phyton, programming 3D printer and also we presented our Arduino device that we created which measures CO2 level. The ICT teacher created a film and instructions that are put on the website so that each of the project partners can recreate it.
Day 4 - 14th March
Since the project concerns biodiversity as well we decided to show at least some of it in surrounding area. Therefore, we took the participants to Gołuchów and suing a terrain game offered by the local community supporter students had to name the given trees and plant and follow the route in order to find a hidden treasure. Additionally, they could see some of the animals kept in the reservoir.
Later on we prepared a party for the students and our students’ parents where they also the chance to taste some of the polish specialists when it comes to cuisine (an example of sharing the elements of cultural heritage in a most pleasant way.

Day 5 - 15th March
The last day was visiting our city one more last time, but in an unusual manner. Our students prepared a terrain game using Geocaching. The students were divided into international groups and they had to follow clues in order to find a hidden message. During this activity they learned some more new things about our city. Afterwards they used the devices for measuring CO2. The students were to visit different parts of our city and collect data about the pollution. Then we collocated the data and discussed how they differ and why. At the end they took part in the assessment of the project.
